The original Surface device was designed to compete with the Apple iPad and was released in 2012. The Surface Pro, Surface Laptop, Surface Book, and Surface Studio are just a few of the additional products that Microsoft has added to the Surface line.
When equipped with a keyboard cover that can be removed, the Surface Pro is a tablet computer that can also be used as a laptop. A traditional laptop with a touchscreen display is called a Surface Laptop. The Surface Studio is an all-in-one desktop computer with a touchscreen display, while the Surface Book is a hybrid laptop that can also be used as a tablet.
